Undergraduate Introductory Course Reform Research (graduate research assistantship):
This research, funded by HHMI, is geared to increasing student retention in life science classes and majors. One of the ways we are attempting to do this is by creating an authentic research experience in introductory life science courses and for life science majors. We are also attempting to discover student reasoning for leaving life science courses and majors. My main involvement has been developing and collecting data from Qualtrics surveys for students who drop courses and change majors. I have also been involved with creating a science motivation survey.
